Mother Inez Lane "Nell" Johnson was born November 25, 1929 in McCormick, SC. She enter into eternal rest on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC. She was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Juanita Searles Lane. She was raised in the home of her great grandmother, Carrie F. Ashmore. She was married to the late Willis W. Johnson.

At an early age she join the Springfield AME Church in McCormick, SC, She later joined the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Cross Hill, SC. Where she served faithful until her health failed. She was the president and organized the Bethel Hymn Choir, she was a deaconess, missionary she organized the pastor's aide ministry and served as the first president. She was the kitchen directress for over 12 years. She was the youth adviser and the driver for the youth. She served in the Little River and Tumbling Shoals Union, Cater for the Lauren County Minister Allowance Prayer Breakfast for several year. She was Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher.  She assisted Bishop Spearman driving to revivals and served under his ministry for 46 years. She attended the public school system of McCormick, and retired from Ricks Restaurant in 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, six daughters: Georgette Foster, Hattie Lagroon, Phyllis Johnson, Nellie Jean Robinson, and a set of twin daughters.

Mother Inez Lane "Nell" Johnson leaves to celebrate her life three daughters: Carolyn J. Hughes (Caregiver), Thelma D. (Derek) Matthews, and Della L. (Willie) Sherard all of Greenwood, SC, five sons: Marion (Julie) Johnson, Paul Johnson, Bonnie Lee Johnson and Minister David Johnson of Greenwood, SC, and James Prince of Greenville, SC; two sisters: Carrie Ford of Columbus, Ohio and Cathy Fleming of Chester, PA. her caregiver Marion Coleman of Greenville, SC; a host of grandchildren, great grand, great- great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; one god-daughter: Barbara J. Williams and a host of spiritual children.
