Robert Lee Darby

Mr. Robert Lee Darby, was born on May 26, 1951, to the late Edgar Beasley and Maggie Darby Watts. He entered eternal rest on May 26, 2017, at Laurens Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Darby attending Bell Street High School, Clinton, SC.  He worked for the South Carolina Department of Transportation for more than 35 years until his retirement. Many knew him from working in the Harvest Market in Laurens, SC He was no stranger to anyone that he encountered.  He loved talking to people.  He was a very kind and loving men.  He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures as watching tv, joking, around, spending time with his grandchildren and his family.  Mr. Darby's health began to fail in 2014.  He didn't let that deter him from living life.  e remained humble. Mr. Darby was a devoted and dedicated father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

In addition to his parent;: he was preceded in death by two sisters: Annie D. McMorris and Mary Ann Darby; Five brothers; Williams Dobbins, Thomas Darby, Jimmy Darby, Clarence Darby, and George Darby.

He leaves behind to cherish loving memories three daughters: Cassandra Rice, Dana Lee both of Laurens, SC; Teresa (Sean) Brown Pitts of Clinton, SC; seven grandchildren, Denzell Latimore, Josiah Strewart, Mykayla Neely, Zipporah Scurry, Jairus Scurry of Laurens, SC, Alexis Brown, and Tay Brown, two great- grandchildren: Laitlyn Latimore and Kaylee Latimore of Clinton, SC; five brothers: Randolph Barb, Manuel Darby, Sr. .Samuel Darby, Lorenzo Darby of Clinton, SC, James (Annette) Darby of Newberry, SC; two other sisters-in-law; Brenda Darby and Willie Mae Darby, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
