Bobby Suber Nelson was born on April 23, 1946 to the late Sarah Kinard and John Floyd Nelson in Clinton, South Carolina. He was called home on the morning of Friday, June 29, 2018.
Bobby attended Bell Street High School in Clinton, South Carolina. Shortly after High School, he began his own masonry business. His craftsmanship as a brick mason is displayed all over many counties in the Upstate area. Later he was employed by Greyhound Bus Lines in Washington, D.C., where he served as bus driver for 28 years before retiring.
Bobby was a pleasant and humorous person who touched the lives of many, young and old. His generosity, humor, and tough love was his trademark. He was a devoted father and loving husband who attended Friendship A.M.E. Church and his memory will be cherished by many.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 42 years, Barbara Evans Nelson; his children, Bobby Nelson, Jr. of Washington, D.C., Shona Watts Rice (Mike) of Clinton, SC, Byron Fuller of Washington, D.C., Marva Nelson of Riverdale, GA, Neal Nelson of Sharpburg, GA., and preceded in death by his son, Michael Nelson. He also leaves to cherish fond memories two sisters; Patricia K. Baker (Mathew) of Clinton, MD, Ruth Ann Hunter (Benjamin) of Ahoskie, NC., and brothers, Benjamin Kinard of Baltimore, MD, Ricky Kinard (Ann) of Odenton, MD, and Eddie Walker of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by one sister; Sallie Pearl Kinard. He leaves behind a beloved brother-in-law, Fredric Stevens Evans of Duncan, SC. He leaves fond memories to his grandchildren, Christopher, Christian, Danika, Morgan, Shai, Tanara, Yasmine, Taje, Aiden, Ryen, Marlie, Bryson, and Callie. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, a host of very special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a beloved cousin, Fannie Suber Boyd (Ron) of Clinton, MD.
