Ms. Brenda Rice Taylor was born on May 2, 1948 to the late Bertha McClintock Rice and late Thomas B. Rice.

Brenda graduated from Sanders High School in 1966.She later attended Morris College and Friendship College. Brenda was employed with Whitten Center for twenty-two years. She was also employed with the Laurens County Hospital for eight years. She officially retired in 2014 from Presbyterian College. She was a special care taker for both Dorothy and Sherwin Rice.

Ms. Rice Taylor was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Takajah Rice; one grandson, Marlon P. Rice; five brother, Thomas Rice, Jr., Charles Rice, James Rice, Lendy Rice, and Sherwin Rice; and two sisters, Beautie, and Lenora Pulley.

On Saturday morning, December 9, 2017, Brenda heard the voice of the Lord say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."

Brenda leaves to cherish wonderful memories a daughter, Tanisha (David) Taylor of the home; two sons, Theopolis M. (Maxie) Rice of Clinton, South Carolina and Andre L. (Ptia) Rice of Orangeburg, South Carolina : three step-children, Lisa Taylor, Leroy Taylor, Jr., and Charles Taylor Suber all of Clinton, South Carolina; three sisters, Carrie B. Robinson and B. Ann (Fred) Jones of Laurens, South Carolina, and Mamie S. Rice of NHC Nursing Facility in Clinton, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Jaden Rice,, Jashawn Anderson, and Mikayla Brown-all reared in the home, Nikiria Rice, Zaria Patterson, Zavier Patterson, Alyssia Ross, Amyah Ross, Zakarius Rice, Brianna Rice, Terence Hill, and Ryleigh Rice; two sisters-in-law, Elouise Rice of Mauldin, South Carolina and Dorothy Rice of Clinton, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
