Effie Rice Price

Effie Rice Price was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Reverend Edgar and Minnie Rice on December 7, 1932.  She peacefully departed this life on Saturday, June 30, 2018.  She was the widow to Deacon Richard Price. They shared sixty-four beautiful years together.

Effie was a dedicated and faithful member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Whitmire, South Carolina for many years until her health declined.  She was a deaconess, president of the Missionary, Sunday School Superintendent, and president of the Smith Singers.

She retired from Whitten Center.  After retirement, she loved to go fishing.  Later in life, she enjoyed traveling with her children.  She will always be remembered for her resilience and wisdom.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Richard Price; six brothers, Roosevelt, Lazell, Issac, Marcellous, Luther, and Edgar; five sisters, Geneva, Lillie, Sarah, Elise, and Gertrude.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, one daughter, Phyllis P. Johnson of Clinton, SC; one son, Richard B. Price of Virginia; three grandchildren, LaToya Johnson Tribble, Richard Jamil (Porche) Johnson, and Richard D'Andre Price; two great-grandchildren, Jaimee Alyse Johnson and Jarsyn Jade Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Price, Gracie Crawford, and Martha Price;  one brother-in-law, Sammie L. (Andrina) Price; three special nephews, Issac Price, Charles Johnson, and William Price; one special niece, Alma Burnside; her cockerpoo, Mason; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
