James Robinson

James C. Robinson, 60, of Clinton, SC was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Mission Hospital of Asheville, NC.

Born Tuesday, March 4, 1958, he was the son of the late Azaleen Robinson.  James was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1978, and he attended Chowan College of Murfreesboro, NC.  He joined Mt. Zion AME Church at an early age and later joined Hebron Baptist Church of Clinton, where he served as a faithful member and Trustee.  James worked many years for the local factory, Asten Johnson.  He has been very active in his community, mentoring youth, providing counsel to young adults, and being a friend and helper to senior citizens.  His warm smile, kind and encouraging words, and inviting spirit made him a friend to many within the city and beyond.  He was an advocate for second chances and went out of his way to help others overcome challenges that he himself was able to overcome.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Rosa Lee Young; his mother Azaleen Robinson; and his brother Keith Robinson.

He is survived by his son Michael C. Robinson (Erin) of Lexington, KY; his daughter, Kendra N. Robinson-Esq of Atlanta, GA.; three granddaughters, Alicia, Micah and Emiah Robinson of Lexington, KY; six sisters, Wyvonne Rice (Roosevelt), Debbie Burnside (Dan), Daffie Robinson all of Clinton, SC., Emma D. Robinson of Greenville, SC, Donna Sprowl of Sacramento, CA,, and Rosa Lee Cason of Ft. Washington, MD; two brothers, Willie B. Robinson (Estelle) of Austin, TX, and Doug Robinson of Clinton, SC; two aunts, Mary Scott of Clinton, SC and Carrie Robinson of Laurens, SC; and one uncle, Rev. James J. Robinson of Abbeville, SC; as well as a close friend Hazel Anderson of Greenwood, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
