Maggie Lee Adams Burnside, age 87, was born on October 7, 1930 to the late Andrew (DP) and Ella (Momma Lee) Dillard Adams.

She attended the public schools of Laurens County and was a graduate of Bell Street High School.

At an early age, Mrs. Burnside joined Bethlehem Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina. From then she became a member of the Young Ladies Auxiliary, a Life Member of VFW Post 5932, a Past Worthy Matron and Life Member of Morning Glory No. 191 Order of the Eastern Star, and a Life Member of the Disabled Americans Auxiliary Unit 52. She retired from Whitten Center where she served as a Direct Care Specialist. She also served as a grandparent at M. S. Bailey Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burnside, Jr., to whom she was married for 48 years, her son, Jerome L. Burnside, and her brother, Andrew Adams, Jr.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, one son, Daniel E. (Debbie) Burnside, Sr. of Clinton, SC; three daughters, Nettie J. Burnside of Kinards, SC, Emma J.(Vernon) Burnside of Woodbridge, VA, and Antoniette  "Audy" (Kelvin) Bates of Clinton, SC; a daughter-in-law, Alma Burnside of Kinards, SC; four grandchildren, Adrienne M. Burnside and Daniel E. (JiiVonda) Burnside, Jr., all of Clinton, SC, Nikki S. Stevenson of Laurens, SC, and one grandson reared in the home, Cory O.B. Robinson of Charleston, SC; five great-grandchildren, Rasheed M. Burnside, Jiarius J. Burnside, Javious Williams, Jaden Williams, and Jacory Williams; four sisters-in-law, Maggie Reed, Mary E.(Willie) Jenkins, Mary Ellen Burnside, and Daisy Barksdale; Two special cousins, Annette Baines and Mae Ella Cunningham; two special friends, Elder Ruth Pyles, Mammie Norman Edmonds, and a host of nieces, nephew, and other relative and friends. She was everyone's "Aunt Mag."

She was Clinton's very own "Flower Lady," known for her beautiful flower garden.
