Mrs. Minnie Price Watts, 91, of Carolina Gardens at 420 West Farley Avenue, Laurens, South Carolina, entered her Eternal Home on Monday, February 11, 2019.
She was born on March 4, 1927 to the late Lillie Rice Price and Henry Price, Sr.
Mrs. Watts joined Springfield Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina at an early age where she remained a member until her health declined. While there, she was a member of the usher board, missionary, church treasurer, and she was a Sunday School teacher. She attended school in the old school house building that later became her parents' residence.
At the age of 18, Minnie left her parents' home to go "uptown" to find a job. During her lifetime, she found employment at Broad Street Methodist Church, Martha Dendy Elementary School, Thornwell Home for Children, and Whitten Center until her retirement. She was also a Girl Scout Brownie Leader for many years and a member of the McCoy, Fuller, and Jenkins VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a Girl Scout Brownie Leader for many years and a member of the Evening Light Chapter N0. 260, Order of the Evening Star, which merged with New Bethel Chapter No. 195, Order of the Evening Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse F. Watts, Sr. and two brothers, George T. Price and Edgar Price.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, Jesse (Albertine) Watts, Jr., George (Euphiner) Watts, John (Sheron) Watts, and Ralph Watts; one daughter, Mary (Charles) Williams; eight grandchildren, Stacy (Glenn) Gary, Adrienne Watts, Yashica (Brian) McMorris, Trevor Watts, Tamara (Brad) Redmond, John R. (Enicha) Watts, Xavier Watts, and Shawnta Lattimore; seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Heny (Mamie) Price, Jr. and William (Luvonia) Price; one sister, Lillie B. Sturkey; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Watts and Kathy Watts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
