Aaron Stephens G Bates was born on June 27, 1984 in Laurens County, South Carolina to Betty Scurry Copeland and the late James R. Young.

He attended the public schools in Laurens County, South Carolina and was affiliated with the Laurens County Special Needs Board.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his soulmate, who departed this life with him, Ms. Brittney Redd of Clinton, SC; and Mr. and Mrs. Henderson (Wilhelmina) Bates in whose home he was raised.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Aaron Stephen G Bates departed this life in Laurens County, South Carolina at the early age of 34.

He leaves to cherish fond memories; his wife, Margaret Jackson Bates; his mother, Betty Scurry Copeland; two sisters, Rebecca Gary of Columbia, SC and Titania Evette Young of Woodruff, SC; two brothers, Travis Scurry and Tyrone (Christy) Tribble; his maternal grandmother, Daisey Lee Scurry of Florida; an aunt, Mattie Leak of Florida; six special cousins, Betty Sue Scurry Campbell, Marie Scurry, Rose Mary Scurry, Annie Ruth Scurry, Karen (Buck) Scurry and James (Angela) Watson; and a host of other family and friends who will miss hi dearly.
