Mrs. Althea Ella Parker was born on January 17, 1963, in Marysville, California to the late Alfred Earl Johnson Sr. and Doris Wyatt Johnson and raised in Clinton, South Carolina.
She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina, and graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, South Carolina. She then furthered her education to graduate from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She topped it all off by taking her education even further to receive her Master's degree from Bowie State University in Prince George County, Maryland.
After relocating to Clinton, South Carolina, Althea began to attend Friendship African Methodist Episcopal Church. She later attended Little River Zion in Kinards, South Carolina. She then moved to Maryland where she began to attend Chapel 2 at the Air Force Base.
Althea retired after being employed for over twenty years as an educator.
In addition to her love for teaching, she loved to read, watch football, collect seashells and novelty bags.
She received her heavenly wings on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, Maryland at the age of sixty-two.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her daughter, Ava Melody Parker; son, Martin Alfred Parker; brother, Alfred Earl Johnson Jr; her caregiver and granddaughter, Aamina Abdus-Salaam; a daughter-in-law, Victoria O. Johnson; and a host of step grandchildren, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
