Annie Laura (Byrd) Walker

Mrs. Annie Laura Byrd Walker was born on May 30, 1937, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Elbert Perry Byrd and Annie Dillard Byrd.

She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina.

Annie was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina where she served as a member of Ladies Auxiliary, the Missionary, and was an Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Roy Lee Walker; one daughter, Vernell Walker Smith; one grandson, Calvin Damel Walker; one brother, John Henry Byrd; one sister, Mary Helen Peake.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, Mrs. Annie Laura Byrd Walker departed this life at her home in Clinton, South Carolina, at the age of eighty-six.

She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by her son, Roy Walker, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina;

 two daughters: Shirley Walker Butler and Wanda Walker both of Clinton, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four loving sisters: Maggie (William, Sr.) Foster and Jeannette Jones both of Clinton, South Carolina, Rosa Peake of Riverview, Florida, and Lillian Byrd of Mauldin, South Carolina; and an enormous host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
