Atairis Shervok Rucker was born January 25, 1985. From a young age, she showed a natural gift for connecting with others, always offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Known for her compassion and gentle spirit, Atairis touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and selfless nature. She found joy in spending time with family, serving her community, and pursing her passion for education.
Atairis faced every challenge with grace, strength, and faith, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her professional achievements, including Master of Education in State of North Carolina and Texas, were meaningful, but it was the love, warmth, and support she shared that truly defined her life
She leaves behind a legacy of inspiration, resilience, and cherished memories. Atairis spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, guiding and inspiring them for years to come.
Atairis was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Rucker of Greenwood, South Carolina, her sister, Lakeisha Sheppard of Greenwood, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Willie Jo Rucker of Forney, Texas, two nieces, Miangle Sheppard and Brelle Sheppard of Greenwood, South Carolina; and two nephews, Leonard Sheppard and Braden Chase of Greenwood, South Carolina.
She is also survived by her grandparents, Lonzo Grant, Sr. of Cross Hill, South Carolina and Betty Jo Grant of Laurens, South Carolina, her godparents, Greg and Tracy Aiken of Greenwood, South Carolina; and her godbrothers, Mario Peterson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Shard Hill of Charleston, South Carolina.
Arairis also leaves behind a father figure, Kirk White, Sr. of Forney, Texas; five aunts, Melissa (Willie) of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Pamela (Russell) Grant of Mountville, South Carolina, Dorothy Grant of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Virginia Dillard of Cross Hill, South Carolina, and Charlene Rucker of Greenwood, South Carolina, and a special aunt, Dorothy Virginia Williams of Greenwood, South Carolina. She is further survived by three uncles, Ricky Grant, Lonzo Grant, Jr. of Cross Hill, South Carolina and Randy (Stephanie) Grant of Laurens, South Carolina her best friend, Trina Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina; along with a host of other uncles, aunts, relatives, and friends who will dearly miss her.
