Mrs. Bobbie Jean Payne was born December 27, 1937, in Newberry County, South Carolina to the late Evan Jeter and the late Mattie Suber. She was raised by John and Clara Suber at a young age. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Mrs. Payne entered into Eternal Rest at her home, at the age of 88.
She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church in Whitmire, South Carolina where she was a member of the Pastor's Aide, Usher Board and the Choir. Mrs. Payne retired from Whitten Center as a Supervisor after 28 years of service. She was a graduate of the Bell Street High School Class of 1957. Mrs. Payne enjoyed sewing, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Henry Payne, eight brothers, five sisters, and special sister, Mattie Kinard.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her son, Christopher Todd Payne; her granddaughter, Christy Thompson; her great grand-daughter, Ava Thompson; sisters, Mattie Johnson and Mary Daylis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
