Mrs. Brenda Ann Godfrey Young was born to the late Robert Lewis Bailey and Ethel Mae Gary, who were such generous parents on October 01, 1960, in Laurens County, South Carolina.
She spent her childhood in Clinton, SC and the surrounding areas and attended the public schools of Laurens County School District 56.
Her parents provided a firm spiritual foundation for her and her siblings. El Zee African Methodist Church in Whitmire, South Carolina was the family church home and the source of continued strength.
Brenda Ann was a loving devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Devin Reid.
On Monday, May 27, 2024, God dispatched his angels to shepherd His daughter home surrounded by her family and wrapped in love.
The love and legacy of Brenda Ann lives on in the memories and lives of her three sons: Marty Bailey, Christopher Godfrey, and Quinton Godfrey; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters; Angela Gary, Ethel Godfrey, and Sarah Gary, two brothers: Sammy Gary and James Willis Bailey; two close aunts: Hattie Richardson and Lena Smith; one uncle, James Howard Bailey; two special nieces-one of the home, Andrika (Derrick) Bluford and Janay (Travis) Gary; two special helpers: Maddison Davis and Amadisyn Bluford; a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins.
