Ms. Carol Ann McGee was born on October 08, 1951, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Cornell McCanty, Sr. and Wynetta Foggie McCanty.
She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a graduate of the Sanders High School Class of 1969. She furthered her education at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina in 1970.
Carol was a faithful member of St Paul Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina where she sang in the choir and occasionally played the piano.
After twenty-five years of employment, she retired from Miliken & Company- Gilliland Plant in Laurens, South Carolina.
Carol had a great love for her family as well as singing, playing the piano, listening to R&B music, and taking care of her fur baby, “Lil Boobie.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl McGee; one brother-in-law, William McGee; and four sisters-in-law: Mattie Carter, Margie Mickens, Loretta Summers, and Lily Alice Ward.
On Sunday, February 04, 2024, Ms. Carol Ann McGee departed this life at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of seventy- two.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Almetra (Chris) McGee of Mauldin, SC; a special niece/daughter, Veronica (Terry) Hunter of Simpsonville, SC; two grandchildren: Brandon Davenport of Greenville, SC and Marqeus Davenport of Simpsonville, SC; two great grandchildren: Taniyah Reid and Naomi Davenport both of Greenville, SC; her brother, Cornell (Diana) McCanty, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Vanessa McCanty of Fountain Inn, SC and Jeanette McCanty of Simpsonville, SC; one niece, Keisha McCanty of Houston, TX; three nephews: Terrance (Akira) McCanty of Columbia, SC, Gerard McCanty of Fountain Inn, SC, and Rashad Cogman of Columbia, SC; a special nephew, Chris Summers of Mebane, NC; two brothers-in-law: Rossie (Carol) McGee of Cross Hill, SC and Elliot McGee of Laurens, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
