Christel Elizabeth Hunter Pyles, 53, wife of Furman L. Pyles of 104 Furman K Pyles Road, Clinton, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 15, 1017 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Laurens County, SC, on December 7, 1963, she was the daughter of Louise T. Hunter and the late Michael (Mack) Hunter. At an early age Christel joined Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church.She was a graduate of Clinton High School Class of 1982 an honor graduate of the Piedmont Technical College Nursing program and acquired her South Carolina Nursing Program and acquired her South Carolina State Licensed Practical Nurse's License (LPN). She worked at Laurens National HealthCare as Head Charge Nurse and as a Nurse at Whitten Center in Clinton, SC. She was a former employee of the Torrington Bearing Company in Clinton for eighteen years.
Christel was predeceased by her father, a brother, Willie E. Hunter, and maternal grandparents, William D. Taylor, Sr. and Mattie Williams Taylor, and paternal grandparents, Blakely Hunter and Millie Simpson Hunter,
Left to cherish fond memories are: her husband, Furman L. Pyles and son, Christopher Xavier L. Pyles (Zay) of the home; her mother, Louise T. Hunter and brother, Michael G. Hunter, Jr., both of Midland, North Carolina; sister, Tynina L. Nance; mother and father-in-law, Furman and Ruth C. Pyles of Clinton, South Carolina; six uncles, Charlie J. Taylor (Beverly), Robert Taylor, John Young (Lottie Katherine), Albert Mickens (Annie Pearl), Lonzo Carter, Jr., and Willie Carter; Fourteen aunts, Ruby T. Velasco (Bill), Nettie R. Taylor, Rita T. Henderson(Curtis), Geraldine Taylor, Cynthia T. Adams, Anita Thong (Heng), Velma H. Bailey, Marie C. Moses, Lela M. Rice, Sylvia Conway, Azalea Boyd, Helen Bobo, Jessie Jackson (Eugene) and Rosa L. Vance; brother-in-law, Lorenzo W. Pyles; two nieces, Delaisha L. Stephens and Keondra M. J. McMorris; and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing, including special friends; Amanda Dendy and Barbara Ann Brown, both of Clinton, South Carolina, Denise Conway of Newberry, South Carolina, and Brenda Beasley of Laurens, South Carolina.
