Clara Grant Wilson

Mrs. Clara Grant Wilson was born October 19, 1959, in Laurens County, South Carolina to Jessie Mae Grant Williams.

She attended the public schools of Newberry County, South Carolina and graduated in the Newberry High School Class of 1978.

Clara was a dedicated member of St. Vaughnville Baptist Church in Chappells, South Carolina where she was a member of the Mass Choir, Praise Team, YWA, Pastor's Aide, and the Kitchen Committee.

She was always known for her affection, her lovely smile, kisses and hugs. She was employed for almost twenty-two years with Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs and would have retired on April 01, 2023.

Clara enjoyed singing in her church choir. If you didn't show up, she would be a one man show. She would sing, pray, and testify - She would do anything for the Lord. She also enjoyed collecting family and friends' pictures, watching movies, doing word search puzzle books, motivational speaking, dancing, being a comedian, and spending time with her family.

On Thursday, March 23, 2023, Mrs. Clara Grant Wilson departed this life at her home in Newberry County, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of sixty-three.

Her loving memories will be forever cherished by her mother, three sons: Carlos Wilson of the home, Otis Ladale (Kristen) Wilson of Blythewood, SC, and Christopher (Charlsie Mayers) Wilson of Newberry, SC,; nine grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kameron, Aniya, Amari, Kelsey, Christianna, Kaiden, Sinaia, and Passion; two step-grandchildren: Rayshon and ZaQuinton; two god children: Leshawn and Crystal; one brother, Howard Carson Williams; one sister/best friend, Juanita (Greg Richards) Williams of Newberry, SC; two aunts: Josephine Alston of Newberry, SC and Annie Lee Grant of Columbia, SC; one uncle Robert Lee Grant, Sr. of Hodges, SC; one special "sister", Linda (Otis) Langford; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
