Cora Johnson Obituary
Mrs. Cora Lee Johnson was born on May 20,1923 to the late Henry and Louvenia "Febbie" Young in Laurens, South Carolina. She transitioned peacefully into Eternal Rest after a brief illness on April 9, 2021 at Hospice of Laurens in Clinton, South Carolina at the age of ninety-seven.
She was a faithful member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Clinton, South Carolina. She was also a self-employed housekeeper for the majority of her life where she worked in the homes of many families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over forty years, Arthur Johnson; her son, Otis Lee Simpson; a sister, Annie T. Young; and four brothers.
Her loving memories will be cherished by two granddaughters: Gloria Ann Simpson and Shirley Lee Watson both of Clinton, South Carolina; two great granddaughters: Sonya Watson and Stacey Watson; three sisters: Julia Ruth Copeland of Clinton, South Carolina; Lillie Bell Trevathan and Thelma Ingram both of Youngstown, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
