Daniel E Burnside, Sr.

Mr. Daniel Elmer Burnside, Sr was born in Clinton, South Carolina on May 11, 1951 to the late James Burnside, Jr and Maggie Adams Burnside.

Daniel attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a graduate of the Bell Street High School Class of 1969 in Clinton, South Carolina.

At an early age, he became a member of Friendship African Methodist Episcopal Church in Clinton, South Carolina where he was a member of the male chorus and the usher board until his health declined. He was also a member of the Snowflake Masonic Lodge No. 230.

He was a dedicated Press Operator with Timken in Clinton, South Carolina for thirty-nine years and a Machine Operator at Astens Johnson for six years.

Daniel had a love for fishing, shooting pool, and telling jokes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome Burnside.

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Mr. Daniel Elmer Burnside, Sr was welcomed to his Eternal home at Self Regional Hospital Greenwood, South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of forty-seven years, Debbie Robinson Burnside; one daughter, Adrienne Burnside of Clinton, SC; one son, Daniel “Danny” E. (JiiVonda) Burnside, Jr of Clinton, SC; two grandchildren: Rasheed Burnside of Laurens, SC and Jiarius Burnside of Clinton, SC; three sisters: Nettie Burnside of Kinards, SC, Emma (Vernon) Heston of Clinton, SC, and Antoniette (Kelvin) Bates of Clinton, SC; three aunts: Elizabeth (Willie) Jenkins of Clinton, SC, Daisy Barksdale of Clinton, SC, and Mary Ellen Burnside of Mauldin, SC; one uncle, Reverend J. J. Robinson of Abbeville, SC; a very special cousin, Willie Lewis (Dianne) Burnside of Laurens, SC; six sisters-in-law: Wyvonne Rice, Rosa Cason, Donna (Stanley) Sproul, Emma Robinson, Daffie Robinson, and Alma Burnside; two brothers-in-law: Willie (Estelle) Robinson and Douglas Robinson and a host of other relatives and friends.
