Deborah Anderson was born on January 22, 1981, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the loving parents Earl and Shirley Anderson. She was the twin sister of Kevin Anderson. From the very beginning, Deborah showed a determined and spirited nature. She began walking at just nine months old and seemed to move through life with that same determination and strength.
Deborah began her early education in the Philadelphia Public School System before later moving to South Carolina, where she completed her schooling. While still in high school, Deborah gave birth to the daughter who would become the greatest joy and highlight of her life, Nyiesha Anderson. This blessing strengthened Deborah’s resolve and inspired her to persevere. She proudly graduated from Clinton High School in 1998.
Following graduation, Deborah continued her educational journey by attending Piedmont Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina, where she earned an Associate’s Degree. She later furthered her training at Lincoln Technical Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she studied Automotive Technology. Deborah often shared that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father, Earl Anderson, and work in the automotive industry. Making him proud meant everything to her.
When Deborah secured a position with ZF Industries, she knew that her dream was becoming a reality. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, she steadily advanced from a Level One Operator to a Team Lead and was well on her way to becoming a supervisor. Her strong work ethic and determination left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her.
Deborah loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly. She often expressed how important it was to her that her mother, Shirley Anderson, was cared for and supported in every way. No matter what was happening, Deborah’s loving and familiar question was always, “Ma, are you okay?” That simple phrase reflected the depth of her love and concern for those she held dear.
As a young girl growing up in Philadelphia, Deborah often watched her brothers play football. Over time, she developed a true love for the game and could throw and catch a football better than many of the neighborhood kids. Football became her favorite sport, and she remained a loyal and devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles throughout her life. She stood by her team through every season and celebrated proudly when the Eagles were crowned Super Bowl Champions in 2017 and again in 2024.
Deborah’s love for her family and friends was unmatched. The kindness, warmth, and joy she shared with her siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends left an everlasting mark on everyone who knew her. To know Deborah was truly to love her. Her love stretched far and wide—from the streets of Philadelphia to the heart of South Carolina.
Deborah leaves to cherish her precious memories her father, Earl Anderson; her mother, Shirley Anderson; her beloved daughter, Nyiesha Anderson; her brothers, Earl Anderson Jr., Farrell Anderson, and Kevin Anderson; and her sister, Charlene Anderson. She is also lovingly remembered by her aunts, Betty Ann Davis and Lily Kay Grant; her uncle, John Atkinson; her nephews, David Dwight Moody, Dwayne Hall, Raphael Hall, Emmanuel Moody, Seth Anderson, Farrell Anderson Jr., Solomon Anderson, and Isaiah Anderson; and her nieces, Brittney Treadway, Diamond Banks-Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Channira Moody, Nysirah Hall, Kattie Anderson, Alisha Anderson, and Brielle Anderson.
She also leaves behind her cherished great-nieces, Jamiee Anderson, Jailynn Leseane, and Nyla Anderson; her sisters-in-law, Serrita Anderson and Lamika Anderson; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.
Though Deborah’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit, love, and beautiful memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to share in her life. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the countless lives she touched. Deborah’s legacy of love will remain with us always.
Scripture
Philippians 3:20–21
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
