Obituary

Mrs. Dollie Bell Leamon was born June 11, 1940 in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Edgar James Wilson and Arzie Bell Wilson.

She attended Sanders High School in the Laurens County School District.

At a young age, she became a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina. As a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church, Dollie served in different capacities. She served as President of the Young Women's Auxiliary, served as the Senior Missionary, and she sang with the Singing Echoes. She also prepared numerous meals at the church including breakfast for the pastor and deacons' ministry, which played a role in helping them get to know one another.

After many years of employment, she retired from Lydia Mills formerly of Clinton, South Carolina.

Dollie was truly loved by her family, and she had so much love for them as well. She also had many hobbies which included cooking, tending to her flowers, as well as serving and caring for others with a heart of compassion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Denise Leamon; one son, Perry V. Leamon; three brothers: Bernie Wilson Hunter, John Henry Wilson, and Eddie Lee Wilson; and three sisters: Myrietta Wilson, Louise Wilson Simpson, and Doris Wilson Williams.

Mrs. Dollie Bell Leamon departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, and entered Eternal Rest at National Healthcare of Laurens in Laurens County, South Carolina at the age of eighty-three.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Vanessa Leamon of Laurens, SC; her brother, MacArthur (Willie Mae) Wilson of Laurens, SC; her grandchildren; Jalair V. (Dornice) Leamon, H. O’Neil (Tiasha) Madden, Khadijah McDaniel, and Vante Leamon; her great grandchildren Jahzara, Jace, and Jax Leamon; Tyjhon Harrison and Parris Leamon-Smith; her aunts: Clarice Simpson Coleman of Daytona Beach, FL and Ruth C. (Evangelist Cedric) Simpson-Milton of Palatka, FL; her uncle, Willie James (Joann)  Simpson of Hastings, Florida; her special cousin, Willie Little of Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
