Douglas Jackson Obituary

Mr. Douglas L. Jackson was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on November 26, 1953 to the late Reverend Billy Jackson and Dorothy Metts Jackson.

He attended the public schools of Laurens County.  He graduated from Laurens District 55 High School where he also was later employed for many years.  He was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Laurens, South Carolina until he moved his membership to New China Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina.

Doug enjoyed playing the drums at the church, fishing, playing horseshoes, and shooting pool.  He was formerly married to Diane Taylor with whom he raised two children, Carlos and Tedra Taylor Binson.  He later married Betty Jackson of Laurens, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by one sister, Linda Jackson; a nephew, Jermi Antwon Dendy; and a special aunt, Margaret Bell.

On Friday, March 6, 2020, Mr. Douglas L. Jackson entered eternal rest at Hospice of Laurens County in Clinton, South Carolina.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Betty Jackson of the home; a daughter, Tedra Taylor Binson of Columbia, SC; a son, Carlos Taylor of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren; one brother, Willie Jackson of Clinton, SC; three sister, Rose Dendy of Greenville, SC, Brenda Smith of Clinton, SC; and Margaret Jackson of Anderson, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
