Francetta Renee (Robinson) Shands

Ms. Francetta Renee Robinson Shands, a loving mother and grandmother, gained her wings on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Hospice of Laurens County in Clinton, South Carolina at the age of fifty-nine.

"Fran," as she was lovingly called, was born March 19, 1963, in Hempstead, New York to Maggie Shands Robinson and the late Robert Lee Robinson.

She attended the public schools of New York City, New York before relocating to South Carolina where she attended the public schools of Laurens.  She was a graduate of the Laurens District 55 High School Class of 1981.  She furthered her education and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Ms. Shands was the founder of Living Out Loud In Pink, an organization for Breast Cancer Awareness and was employed for many years as a Reservation Salesperson at Hilton Hotels and Resorts.  She was also a member of the White Plains Baptist Church in Mountville, South Carolina.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and one nephew.

Those left to mourn Fran's passing and cherish her memories are her son, Taurean Bennett of Charlotte, NC;  four grandchildren:  Taureana Bennett, Taurean Bennett, Jakhari Bennett, and Lauren Spears; one great-grandchild, Kameron Blakely;  her caring mother, Maggie Shands Robinson of Clinton, SC; five brothers:  Kevin (Sonja) Robinson of Hempstead, NY, Felix (Sabrina) Jacobs of Snellville, GA, Toby Jacobs of Clinton, SC, Jeffrey (Susie) Robinson of Baltimore, MD, and Darryl Stanton of Hempstead, NY; one sister, Dionne (Larry) Edwards of Greenville, SC; a devoted godson, Donti (Tenisha) Lewis; a devoted friend, Deborah Hill-Rice; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives.
