Gregory Eugene McGowan Jones Sr

Mr. Gregory age 53, of 23 Shealy Circle, Cross Hill, SC., entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2021.  He was born on June 23, 1967, in Spartanburg, SC., to the late Johnny McGowan, Sr., and Martha Jones McGowan.

Greg attended Laurens County Schools District #55.  He was a dedicated worker at Anderson Hardwood Floors for 25 years until his health declined.  Greg joined St. Vaughnville Baptist Church in Chappells, SC, with his wife and daughters.  Also affiliate with Bethel Church in Cross Hill, SC.  A man of many hats.  A husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.  Cleaning his cars, working in the yard, cooking and fishing was his passion.  Greg was a very devoted provider to his family especially his children..

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, a very devoted wife of 25 years to Beverly Lindsay Jones; three daughters; Shakeja Jones, Akedreah Jones of the home and A'Shiara (Cameron) Little of Clinton, SC.  One son Greg Jones, Jr. of Laurens, SC.  Three grand boys that he longed for; Kourtland Little, Tiycen Smith and Tyrell Smith, Jr.  Four sisters; Wanda Jones, Sandra McGowan, Barbara (Tony) McClendon and Darlene McGowan.  Two brothers;  Doug (Janet) McGowan and Johnny McGowan, Jr.  Two aunts; Lula Bell (Ike) Davis and Sarah Mae Rice.  Three uncles; Robert, Izell and Dan McGowan.  Sister-in-law; Tammy Lindsay, two brothers-in-law; James (Shatan) Lindsay and Larry Johnson.  Grandmother-in-law; Lillie K. Richard, three uncles-in-law; Earl, Clyde, and Tommy (Dorothy) Richard.   Two good friends; Keith Mims and Mark Chalmers.  Three devoted neighbors; Charles Bartee, Nate Williams and Andy Williams.  A special niece, Lasha Jones, cousins, Joshua  and Shannon McGowan, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
