Mr. Hugh Charles Williams was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on August 21, 1944, to the late Frank Williams and Irene Smith Williams.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina.
He was a member of St. Vaughnville Baptist Church in Chappells, South Carolina.
Hugh was employed for many years with the Laurens County School District 56.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Williams; and two sons: Charles A. Williams and Willie Lindsay.
On Friday, January 27, 2023, Mr. Hugh Charles Williams departed this life at his home and journeyed from labor to reward at the age of seventy-eight.
He leaves to cherish his fond loving memories his son, Christopher (Melissa)Williams of Enoree, SC; two daughters: Alfreda Philson of Clinton, SC and Ophelia Wialliams of the home; eight grandchildren: Terrance Williams of the home, Arthur Lee (Melissa) Philson III of Rock Hill, SC, Alexander Goggans of Cross Hill, SC, Gerard Goggans of Laurens , SC, Latoria Goggans of Simpsonville, SC, Quentin Watts of Laurens, SC, Chazanne Williams of Greenville, SC, and Chrystal Williams of Enoree, SC; two step grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sister-in-law: Dorothy Richard of Cross Hill, SC and Helen Grayson of New York; two brothers-in-law: Tommy Richard of Cross Hill, SC and Sammy Leake of Greenwood, SC; his devoted companion, Mary Lomax of Greenwood, SC; three special friends: Jannie Hill, Ruber Grant and Jake Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
