James Long Jr Obituary

Mr. James Robert Long Jr. was born January 01, 1971, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late James Robert Long, Sr. and Janie Mae Long Kingsbrough.

He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where he was a graduate of Clinton High school in Clinton, South Carolina.

James was employed at Mosaic Company in Greenville, South Carolina and a member of Souls of Steel in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

"Beetlejuice," as he was lovingly called by family and friends, was a devoted companion, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His motto was "I only have one sister" to whomever he encountered. He always wanted to make you laugh at his crazy jokes and dance moves. He loved his family deeply and unconditionally, never expecting anything in return.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Phillip Long and Rodney Long.

Mr. James Robert Long, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina at the age of fifty-three.

His legacy will be cherished in the memories of his daughter, Keandra Long; his soul mate of the home, Brenda Smith; two bonus children: Derriyon Smith and De'Maryiana Henderson; three grandchildren; one sister, Teresa Gary Smiley of Greenville, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
