Mr. James Earl Rice, better known as "Pee Wee or Nap," was a son of the late Walter Williams and the Martha Lee Rice Allen, both of Laurens, South Carolina. He was born on February 29, 1956 in Laurens, South Carolina, though he celebrated the last wo days of February and the first two days of March, due to the fact (as he never let anyone forget) he was born in a leap year.
Nap graduated from Sanders High School in Laurens County after which he served for a period in the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army, he found employment in the textile industry of Laurens and Greenville counties.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Rice departed this life, at the age of 62, on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories: one daughter, Marjorie Booker; two sons, Antonio Booker and Gavalain Booker; three grandchildren, Maltese (Cory) Booker, Marquevia (Tut) Wright, and Journey Booker; three sisters, Margrett Williams and Kathy Williams, both of Gray Court, SC., and Stephanie Williams of Simpsonville, SC; six brothers, Walter (Selena) Satterwhite of Hickory Tavern, SC, Walter Bernard Williams and Marvin Williams both of Gray Court, SC., George Ken Williams and Richard (Roseitta) Nance, both of Laurens, SC, and Burley Keith (Denise) Williams of Belton, SC., a devoted caregiver and cousin, Geraldine Williams, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends..
