Mr. James Edward Simpson, Sr. affectionally known as "Simp" was born December 31, 1950 in Asheville N.C. to the late Ella Mae Fuller and Otis Simpson. He received his education in the public schools of Clinton, SC.
Those who knew Simp knows that he loved to talk and would keep you on the telephone for hours, had no problem speaking what was on his mind, and he was big advocate for school children with special needs, He loved to talk about the Bible and quote scriptures. He was predeceased into death by his father Otis Simpson Sr, his mother Gladys H Simpson, his birth mother Ella Mae Goggins. His brothers James Otis Sr., Otis Lee Simpson and Jessie Wash Simpson, and a sister Mary Simpson.
Those left to cherish his special memories are 3 daughters Katrina Simpson of Clinton SC (Wayland Moon Jr), Teonna Simpson (Raymond T. Ferguson) and Deaidre Reid both of Laurens, SC, 3 sons: James E Simpson Jr., Laurens SC, Otis Lamont Simpson , Baltomore MD, and Jarnio A. Ligon , Clinton, SC. His siblings Elise Washington of Buffalo, NY Arthur Goggins , Washington, DC, Frankie (Samuel) Neely, Greenville, SC, Roberta (William) Allen, Asheville, NC, Ralph Hamilton, Piedmont, SC and Felicia Goggins, Indian Land, SC. Three special cousins, Jackie Simpson, NY, Bill Simpson, Washington, DC, and Gloria Pyles, Orangeburg, SC.
A dedicated friend Robert Rice, Laurens, SC a special friend, Betty J. Wilson, Woodruff, SC and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss dearly. Eleven Grandchildren: Sani Simpson, ten great grandchildren: Ja'Varia Darby, Elija Grant, Lamontae Simpson, Aaliyah Simpson, Britnay Simpson, Zarria Simpson, Vincent Irby and Ashley Irby. Two sisters-in-law: Sammie Mae Simpson and Brenda Grant Simpson.
