James A Smiley

Mr. James A. Smiley was born September 10, 1951 to the late Willie and Annie Mae Copeland Smiley in Clinton, South Carolina.

He previously worked in the Mill and attended Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Clinton, South Carolina. James attended Martha Dendy School in Clinton.

On Friday, February 13, 2026, Mr. James entered into Eternal Rest at St. Francis Downtown Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina at the age of 74.

In addition to his parents, Willie and Annie Mae Smiley, James was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie "June" Smiley, Robert Smiley, Charles Smiley and Jamie Smiley and three sisters, Cecila Smiley, Shirley Morrison and Marie Gray.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Bernetta Smiley; his sons, Therain (Shameka) Ballard and Reginald Young; his daughters, Sentara Smiley, Anna Smiley, Rayna Smiley, and Wendy Young; his brother, Walter Smiley; his sisters, Cora Smiley and Ida Shepherd; ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
