Affectionately known as "Ruth," she was born on June 24, 1938, in Clinton, South Carolina, to the union of John Henry Wallace and Drucilla Suber Wallace. She was the youngest if two children born to this union.
Ruth accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Friendship AME Church in her hometown of Clinton. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.
Ruth attended school at Clinton Elementary School and Bell Street High School. She went on to earn her college degree from Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina - an accomplishment that marked the beginning of a life dedicated to excellence and service.
It was at Allen University that Ruth met her husband, Lt. Col. Marshall B. Randall, Jr. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Marshall B. Randall, lll, Michael Keith Randall, and Lisa Michelle Randall Sweeting. As a military wife, Ruth supported her husband's service, traveling with her family to military bases across the country, including California, Hawaii, Kentucky, New Jersey, and finally settling in Florida.
Ruth had a distinguished career at United Space Alliance at Kennedy Space Center. Florida, where she supported the nation's manned space flight program and the Space Shuttle fleet. She retired with honors after 26 years of dedicated
service.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Ruth's greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. She cherished every moment with them. Her warmth, strength, and guidance were her family's foundation. As the true matriarch, her unconditional love was the glue that held generations together.
In her leisure time, Ruth enjoyed watching professional tennis. One of her favorite pastimes was relaxing in her room as she followed her favorite player's matches on television.
Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith. She is survived by her children: Marshall B. Randall, III (Amee), Michael Keith Randall (Glady), and Lisa Michelle Randall-Sweeting (Conrad); her beloved grandchildren: Joshua Nathaniel Randall, Sarah Nicole Randall-Weber (Jake), Matthew Randall, Amber Randall, Jacob Randall, and Zachary Randall; cousins and a host of extended family and dear friends whose lives she touched, and whom will forever cherish her memory.
