Ms. Joe Ann Cook of Cross Hill, South Carolina was born in Clinton, South Carolina to the late Joe L. Cook and Polly K. Cook.
She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a 1974 graduate of Clinton High School.
At an early age, she joined St. John Baptist Church in Cross Hill, South Carolina where she became a member of the Pastor's Aide Ministry and the Usher board.
After twenty-eight years of employment, Joe Ann retired from Whitten Center in Clinton. South Carolina. She enjoyed attending church, reading books, and spending quality time with family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty C. Shumpert.
On Sunday, September 15, 2019, Ms. Cook gained her heavenly wings as she entered eternal rest at North Greenville Hospital in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, a sister, Nellie James of Cross Hill, SC; two nieces reared in the home, Shatan James and Marquita James both of Cross Hill, SC; three nephews reared in the home, Bryant James and Tavon Carter both of Cross Hill, South Carolina and Alex James of Clinton, South Carolina; four great nieces, BriYanta, Alexus, Shamarria, and Empress; seven great nephews, Jahmren, Briyhunt, Jahmez, Bryson, Ajavian, Bryland, and Jasiah of whom she loved and treated as her own, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
