Mr. John Wesley Gary Sr., was born May 28, 1948 in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Lawrence Rice and Aggie Mae Gary Rice, in Laurens County
He attended the public schools in Laurens County, South Carolina.
John was a member of Little River Zion Baptist Church in Kinards, South Carolina.
After many years of employment, he retired from Penland Logging.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rudean Simpson.
On Saturday, July 27, 2024 John Wesley, Gary Sr. entered into eternal rest at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of seventy-six.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories one son, John Wesley Gary Jr.; one daughter, Cathy Gary; two brothers: John Edward Gary, Sammie Gary; three sisters: Brenda (Ray) Bryson, Hattie (Ed) Blakely, and Debbie Anderson, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
