Mr. John Oscar Rice, Jr. was born on October 25, 1934, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late John Oscar Rice, Sr. and Rosa Bell Barksdale Rice.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina. He was a member of Duncan Creek Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina.
After many years of employment, John retired as a Concrete Finisher at Metromont in Greenville, South Carolina.
On Friday, December 09, 2022, Mr. John Oscar Rice, Jr. departed this life at National Healthcare in Laurens County, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of eighty-eight.
His loving memories will be cherished by his sons: Minister Tommy Rice and Johnny (Deborah) Rice; his two daughters: Rose Thompson and Mary Alice Nance; his three brothers: James Rice, Bobby Rice, and Ernest (Bertha) Rice; his two sisters: Shirley (Dean) Redmond, and Jannie Rice; one aunt, Elizabeth Rice; one brother-in-law, Robert McGowan, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Shirley Brown; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
