Mr. Johnny Arthur Leake, Jr. was born February 23, 1963, in Laurens County, South Carolina to Bessie L. Speak Shands and the late Johnny A. Leake, Sr.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where he was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, South Carolina.
At an early age, Mr. Leake became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cross Hill, South Carolina.
He was previously employed in Transportation as a truck driver. He was formerly a resident of Laurens County before moving to Columbia, South Carolina where he became a member of the First Church of Nazarene.
"Junior," as he was lovingly called, loved to repair things and growing his flowers. But most of all, he loved being with his children and family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; one brother, Wallace Davis; and his aunts and uncles.
On Friday, November 19, 2021, Mr. Johnnie Arthur Leake, Jr. departed this life at his home in Columbia, South Carolina at the age of fifty-eight.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, in addition to his mother, one son, Christian Leake; two daughters: Taylor Leake and Lavashtia Leake Pulley; two grandchildren: James Hill, Jr. and Azion Pulley; two brothers: Jessie (Sandra) Leake and Willie (Regina) Leake; eight sisters: Johnnie Mae (Charles) Coleman, Betty (James) Johnson, Uzella (Thomas) Sims, Mary Burton, Patricia Briggs, Catherine Bluford, Bertha (Ralph) Suber, and Mattie Pearl DeBramalotta; two friends who were like brothers: Joe (Bertha) Lyons and Bennie (Helen) Young, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
