Mrs. Katherine Adams Fielder was born on December 9, 1925, in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Jessie Adams and Pamela Foggie Adams.
She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and received her Certificate of Diploma with Laurens Public School as an adult. She furthered her education at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina as a nursing assistant.
Katherine worked in the homes of the Enoree Community, Bell's Caf'e, and retired from Whitten Center in Clinton, South Carolina. She was also a Foster Grandparent at Laurens Primary School in Laurens, South Carolina for many years.
She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cross Hill, South Carolina. While there, she served as a member of the Missionary Ministry, Mother of the Board, and Mother of the Church. She was also a member of the Queen Mary Chapter No. 214, Order of the Eastern Star. She knew the Lord and devoted her love not only to him but to her children and family.
In addition to her parents, Mother Fielder was preceded in death by her stepmother, Myrtle Miller Adams; her husband, Cardell Fielder; one son, Lewis Wayne Fielder, Sr.; two granddaughters: Rhonda Reid and Wanda Reid; two grandsons: Reginald DeJuan Barton and David Fielder; and two great-grandsons: Christopher Jamar Massey and Ahmad Rashad Williams.
On Monday, June 20, 2022, Mrs. Katherine Adams Fielder departed this life at National Healthcare of Laurens County in Clinton, South Carolina and entered Eternal Rest at the age of ninety-six.
Her loving memories will be cherished by her three loving daughters: Pamela Pulley of Laurens, SC, Allie Massey of Enoree, SC, and Sylvia Fielder of Clinton, SC; and two sons: Rudolph (Pavia) Fielder of Bear, DE and Gregory Fielder of Laurens, SC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
