Ms. Lucy Ree Cook, 62 of Cross Hill, South Carolina, departed this life on Monday, October 27, 2019 at her home in Cross Hill, South Carolina.
She was born on July 16, 1957 to the late Woodrow Cook and Margaret Cook.
At an early age, she attended St. John Baptist Church in Cross Hill, South Carolina. Lucy graduated from Clinton High School in 1975.
Lucy later joined the Marine Corps where she served from 1978 to 1980. Afterwards, she was employed with the Basic Food Service,. After years of employment, she retired from Whitten Center in Clinton, South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow Cook, Jr., Willie J. Cook, and Walter Cook; three sisters, Lee Bannah Cook, Mary Latimore, and Christine Johnson; and her stepmother, Janice G. Cook.
Ms. Cook leaves to cherish fond memories a daughter; Tyra Lala Se'Mone Cook of Cross Hill, SC; a goddaughter, Wendy Latimore of Laurens, SC. a nephew reared in the home, Quinton Cook; Five sisters, Sara Dendy of Waterloo, SC, Robertha Lewis, Margarine Cook, Nina (Benjamin) Longshore, and Malinda Cook of Cross Hill, SC. One brother; Sammie (Nora) Cook all of Cross Hill, SC; two sisters-in-law, Rosa A. Cook of Greenwood SC and Jessie B. Cook of Cross Hill, SC; one brother-in-law, Walter C. (Gaynell) Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; a special goddaughter, DaLaishia Massey, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
