Mrs. Mae Mildred Monroe Sanders was born on May 11, 1944, in Laurinburg, North Carolina to the late Orean Monroe and Lacy Monroe.
She attended the public schools in Laurinburg, North Carolina and was a graduate of Shaw High School in Wagram, North Carolina.
Mae attended New Beginnings Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina. She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #79.
She was formerly employed for many years at Clinton Mills in Clinton, South Carolina as a weaver.
In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over forty years, Mr. Ralph Sanders, Sr.
On Monday, December 04, 2023, Mrs. Mae Mildred Monroe Sanders departed her earthly life at Hospice of Laurens County in Clinton, South Carolina, and entered her Eternal life in Glory at the age of seventy-nine.
She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by her three sons: Johnny Sanders of Clinton, SC, Ralph Sanders III of Clinton, SC, and Gregory Sanders of Laurens, SC; her daughter, Vernice (Lamont) Congery of Ludowici, GA; nine grandchildren: Kaudeshya Richardson, Gregory Sanders Jr., Tamia Sanders, Chavez Wheeler, Danyel McGowan, Lamont Congery Jr., Dannell Congery, Iesha Sanders, and Laquisha Sanders; five great grandchildren; two brothers: Melvin (Diane) Monroe of New Jersey and John Rush Monroe of North Carolina; four sisters: Lacy Ann Magwood of New York, Alma (John) Davis of North Carolina, Hazel Ottly of North Carolina, and Queenie Mickey of North Carolina; her god-daughter, Bernadette Glenn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
