Mrs. Mamie Williams Price was born January 9, 1938, to the late Edward and Carrie Dillard Williams in Clinton, South Carolina. Mrs. Price was a graduate of Bell St High School. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina where she served as the Mother of the Church, Deaconess, and President of the Missionary. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Star of Bethlehem #358 and the Women’s Aide Society. On Monday, May 25, 2026 Mrs. Price entered into eternal rest at her home at the age of 88. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Elnora Summers and Lucinda McMorris, brothers, Willie Lee Williams & Rufus Williams, nephew James Summers, and two grandsons Parrish M. Walker and great grandson Tyson Thompson.
To the world, she was Mamie Williams Price, but to the family she adored and anchored, she was simply and lovingly, "Grams." A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Grams was the true heartbeat of our family. She lived her life with an open heart, a quick wit, and a profound, unwavering faith. More than anything, Grams loved the Lord and followed His teachings. She possessed a fierce and beautiful Christian spirit that guided every single one of her actions. She taught us all the true meaning of unconditional love, pushing us to always be the absolute best we could be in everything we pursued. Her marriage of 72 years was a testament to grace and devotion; she loved her husband deeply, sharing a rare, peaceful lifetime with him where a single fight was never had. As a mother, she made sure her children wanted for nothing, wrapping them in continuous care and security.
Grams had a vibrant passion for life and creation. Whether she was sewing something beautiful, whipping up a meal that brought everyone to the table, or cultivating a breathtaking yard filled with her beloved flowers, she brought beauty into the world. And she brought immense joy, too—Grams was wonderfully funny, possessed a marvelous sense of humor, and never passed up the chance to share a good joke.
Her compassion extended far beyond her own front door. For years, she poured her heart into caring for the children at Whitten Center, treating them with the same dignity and tenderness she gave her own family. Grams led by pure example, and the seeds she planted have bloomed into an extraordinary legacy. Because of her guidance, love, and high standards, her lineage now includes Reverends, teachers, skilled caregivers, CEOs, accountants, civic leaders, military servicemen, medical professionals, law enforcement officers, and small business owners.
She taught us how to love, how to serve, and how to laugh. Though she is with her Savior now, the garden of her life continues to grow in every single one of us.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Henry Price; her sons, Wendell (Loretta) Price, Mark (Melissa) Price Sr., Derrick (Heatherly) Price; her daughters, Linda Price, Henrietta Price, Anita (Samuel) Stoddard, Donna (Robert) Toland; nineteen grandchildren, Teresa (Derrick) Goodman, Benita K. Miller (Kevin), Tammy P. Walker (Steve), Kimberly S. Stoddard, Tawanna Tapia (Juan), Roderick Holland, Leandra Fowler, Jessica Cook, Bradford Price (Adriane), Tony Price (Kelsey) D’Aria Price, Mitchell Price(Brittani), Leah Price (Samantha), Portia Toland, D’Andra Burnside, Elijah Toland, Derrick ‘DJ’ Price, Malachi ‘JoJo’ Price, twenty nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, three special nieces, Nancy Foggie, Patricia Williams, and Guynell Williams, great niece Sylvia Summers Davis (Freddie), other relatives and friends.
May her love and light continue to guide us in our lives.
