Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Brown, the wife of the late Olease Brown, was born to the late Arnett Richey and Aurelia Turner-Richey. She was one of eleven children. She was educated in Laurens County Schools.
Margaret left her small hometown of Clinton, South Carolina in her teenage years and moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she lived with her maternal Aunt to pursue different career opportunities. She was e retired Cosmetologist and business owner for several decades. Upon retiring, she relocated to Savannah, Georgia in 2005, where she enjoyed her family, friends and church until 2019. She then returned home to Clinton, South Carolina, where she spent the rest of her days in the care of her loving nephew, Michael (Andretha) Richey. She served the Lord as a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Statesboro, Georgia.
Our Queen, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Richey Brown entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 3, 2026, at her home 1009 Sunset Blvd, Clinton, South Carolina at the age of 97.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret is proceeded in death by four sisters, Rosalee Richey, Ruby Richey, Eular Mae Booker and Josephine Richey Hibbitt; four brothers, Benjamin Richey, Eugene Richey, Bobby J. Richey, Rufus Richey and Raymond Richey
She leaves to cherish her memories to her two sisters, Mabel G. Williams of Detroit, MI and Hazel D. Richey of Staten Island, New York; as well as nieces, nephews whom some she helped raise. She also loved and cherished her caretakers whom became part of the family.
