Marian Coleman Obituary

Pastor, Mother Marian Coleman, 83, heard and answered the master's call on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Hospice of Laurens County, Clinton, South Carolina.

She was born in Laurens County on February 16, 1936, the daughter of the late Elder Alberta Moses Carter and Elder Cleo Carter. she was married to the late, Pastor Elder Willie Coleman, Jr.

Mother Marian Coleman joined Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church at a very early age, where she served faithfully in whichever area she was assigned. She implemented a lot of programs that are still being followed today. her passion was seeing the youth and young adults receive salvation and the older adults stay in the apostolic way. She served as the Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher, later as the  Superintendent of the Sunday School, Choir Director, Assistant Pastor to her husband, and served her last 6 years as Pastor of Zion Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a retired employee of Clinton Mills, where she worked for over 30 years

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Hubert and Elder Betty Jean Carter; one brother; Willie James Carter, and one grandson, Antonio M. Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories five sons; Willie Edward (Charlotte Ann) Coleman, Deacon Steve (Angela) Coleman, Sr., James Coleman, Billy (Alfreda) Coleman, Sr., and  Alvin Coleman; Five daughters; Vickie (Tony) Wormley, Marian Louise (Willie C.) Boyd, Ollie Ruth Coleman, Beverly (Charles)Brown, Margaret Ann (Gregory) Anderson, all of Clinton, SC, a very special God-daughter, Deaconess Audrey Brown of Laurens, SC; five brothers; Cleveland Carter of Coco Beach, Florida, John (Joann) Carter, Willie Lee Carter of Clinton, SC; Eugene (Ruby) Carter of Gray Court, SC, Luther Carter of Atlanta, GA, and seven sisters; Dorothy P. Miller, Annie R. Brantley, Mary (Johnny) Scurry, Martha McGowan, Annie Mae (John Henry) Davis, all of Clinton, SC, Anna L. (Grady Davis of Joanna, SC, and Fannie Mae Carter of Atlanta, GA; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
