Miss Martha Elizabeth Young, best known as "Cricket" age 70, passed peacefully into God's eternal light on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC.
She was born February 2, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Katherine Sturkey-Miller and Mr. Willie Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her oldest daughter, Sharon Young-Hill, a brother, Luther Smith, Sr., four sister; Nancy Jane Hall, Mary Alice Rice, Bertha Mar Basnight, and Mattie Band Pinckney.
She attended Bell Street High School in Clinton, SC.
She was an employee of Clinton Mills, Milliken Judson Plant and Cryovac.
Sis survived by a special friend, Mr. John Lewis, one sister, Margaret Jones of Newberry, SC., a special niece , Robin Copeland-Choice reared in the home of Simpsonville, SC., a daughter, Michelle Young (Daryl Richey) of Clinton, SC., one son, Gregory Young of Greenville, SC., eight grandchildren, Ashley McGowan, Gregory Young, Jr,., Denedric Young, Antuion Young, Shaquita Young, Javarious Young, Kadisia McGowan, Quamorrian Richey, Five great-grandchildren, Jacobi Young, Zy' mir Young, Peyton Young, Kaycen and Kelan and a host of special nieces, nephews, friends, club members and other loving relatives.
