Michael Roynell Young

Mr. Michael Roynell Young was born on March 6, 1981 in Greenwood, South Carolina to the late Johnny Young Sr., and Ella Leake Young.

He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where he was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1999.

Michael was formerly employed as a Forklift Driver for ZF Transmissions in Gray Court, South Carolina.

He had a great love for his family and basketball.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Mr. Michael Young entered into eternal rest at his home in Laurens, South Carolina at the age of forty-four.

Cherishing his precious and fond loving memories are his loving wife, Shundra Young; his four sons: Jahvar Young, Devarius Young, Sean Young, and Michael Young; his daughter, Je’Nevia Smith; four grandchildren; Ta'Niya Davis, Jyshawn Young, Ja'Liyah Young, and Makenna Goggins; four brothers: Gregory (Harriet) Gary, Johnny Smith, Anthony Young, Johnny (Tamesha) Young Jr.; his five sisters, Sara (Derrick) Young, Janet (Douglas) McGowan, Johnnie Mae Dandy, Elizabeth Lindsay, Bobbie Jean Harvey, daughter-in-law, Shekeya Davis; mother-in-law, Shirley Montgomery; father-in-law, Calvin Montgomery; two sisters-in-law, Lacasha Michel and Chelsy Montgomery; four special friends: Travis Byrd, Damian Whimphrey, Jessica Smith, and Walt Gary, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
