Nathan A. Daniels was born in Des Moines, Iowa on April 18, 1977, to Curt and Constance Daniels. He grew up in central Iowa, attending and graduating from Colfax-Mingo High School. Youth activities included the local swimming team and 4-H and FFA clubs. Nathan was also a skilled piano player, entertaining many with his ability to play complicated numbers with ease. The activity he was most involved with was the Boy Scouts of America. He joined as a Cub Scout, later earning the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to his active involvement in the local scouting organization, Nathan served for many years as a camp counselor at Camp Mitigwa in central Iowa. In 2022, the 100th anniversary of this camp, he was recognized with a service award for his many contributions.
After high school, Nathan attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Upon graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree he worked for college and university systems in Iowa. The skills he learned working with the University of Northern Iowa and Hawkeye Community College served him well when he moved to South Carolina. In South Carolina, he joined the Information Technology department at Anderson University, where he was employed as Director of Network Services at the time of his passing.
In addition to his information technology career, Nathan was also known for being the family computer expert. He was always a willing participant in family activities, lending a helping hand for whatever project was in the works. He spent many weekends in South Carolina hanging out with friends and family around a good meal, a game of dominoes, cribbage or other board game, and whatever was playing on the television.
Nathan is survived by his parents, Curt (Beth) of Chariton, Iowa and Constance of Laurens, South Carolina. Nathan is also survived by two siblings , Scanlon Daniels of Dalhart, Texas and Sarah Daniels (Mareno Foggie) of Laurens, South Carolina and two half-siblings, Alexander Daniels and Elizabeth Daniels of Chariton, Iowa. His six nephews (Eric, Luke, Judd, Dirk, Isaac and Josiah) and one niece (Joyce) will miss him, as well as other family and many friends.
We will all remember him for his kindness, generosity and dedication to his loved ones.
