Robert Lee (Bobby) Higgins, Jr.

Mr. Robert Lee Higgins, Jr. was born in Laurens County, South Carolina on October 23, 1938.  He was the son of the late Reverend Robert Lee Higgins, Sr. and Frances Hunter Higgins.

He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina.

Robert was a member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Clinton, South Carolina.

"Bobby," as he was lovingly called, was a former employee of Bosch Company in fountain Inn, South Carolina and B.F. Shaw, Mueller, and Ball Foster Glass Company all of Laurens, South Carolina as well as a veteran of the United States Maine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Watson Higgins.

On Monday, August 9, 2021, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, Mr. Robert Lee "Bobby" Higgins, Jr. was called to his Eternal Resting Place at the age of eighty-two.

Fond and loving memories of Bobby are left to his three sons:  Michael Higgins of Laurens, SC, Randy (Yvonne) Higgins and Terrence (Annette) Watson both of Clinton, SC;  three daughters:  Phyllis Higgins, Cynthia Higgins, and Crystal Higgins Boyd all of Laurens, SC;  a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren;  one sister, Priscilla Higgins Herbert of Laurens, SC; one brother, Richard Higgins of Charlotte, NC;  three sisters-in-law:  Johnnie Mae, Margaret, and Mildred; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

                                               As we look back over time, we find ourselves wondering

                                        Did we remember to thank you enough for all you have done for us?

                                               For all the times you were by our sides to help and support us,

                                                    To celebrate our successes, to understand our problems,

                                                 And accept our defeats:  Or for teaching us by your example,

                                               The value of hard work, good judgement, courage, and integrity?

                                                 We wonder if we ever thanked you for the sacrifices you made

                                                    To let us have the absolute best?  And for the simple things

                                                                 Like laughter, smiles, and times we shared?

                                                                          If we have forgotten to show our

                                                Gratitude enough for all the things you did, we are thanking you now.

                                                 And we are hoping you knew all along, how much you meant to us.
