Mr. Robert Lewis Jones, Sr. was born on May 4, 1942, in Clinton, South Carolina to the late Claude Sonny Hill and Lillian Bobo Jones.
He attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina where he was a graduate of Bell Street Street High School in Clinton, South Carolina.
At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, South Carolina.
Robert, lovingly called "Bobo" by family and friends , was formerly employed with Torrington Co. for nine years, Whitten Center for fifteen years, and recently as the owner of his owner repair company, Jones General Repair.
He enjoyed being with his family and friends as well as fishing, woodworking, Ham radio Operator, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Willie Bobo; and two sons: Phillip Ruth and Carl Jones.
On Monday, December 25, 2023, Mr. Robert Lewis "Bobo" Jones, Sr. departed this life at his home in Clinton, South Carolina, at the age of eighty-one.
He leaves his precious memories to be cherished by his wife of sixty-two years, Jeannette Byrd Jones; his son, Robert Lewis (Dorothy) Jones, Jr.; his daughter, Cynthia (Bruce) Jones of Clinton, SC; six grandchildren: Robert L. (Jessica) Jones III of Irmo, SC, Jeanette Nicole Lynch of Simpsonville, SC, Ashley (Sean) Smothers of Evansville, WY, Mariah (Taylor) Buck of Elko, NV, Kennan Ruth of Elko, NV, and Tamaura Shelton of Oklahoma City, OK; four great-grandchildren: Brayden Lynch and Hayden Lynch both of Clinton, SC, Liliann Shelton and Amauro Shelton both of Oklahoma City, OK; his sister, Debbie Wilkins of Yonkers, NY; four sisters-in-law: Annie Walker, Maggie Foster, Rosa Peake, and Lillian Byrd; one brother-in-law, William Foster, Sr.: niece, Ashley Kirklin of Yonkers, NY; three special friends: Stephine Boyd, Demetria Boyd, and Tysheika Boyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
