Robert Haywood Miller, Sr., better known as Bobby, was born February 21, 1947 to the late Thomas J. Vance and Ollian Miller Vance in Clinton, South Carolina.
He attended the public schools of Laurens, South Carolina and was a graduate of Bell Street High School in Clinton, South Carolina.
After high school, Bobby gained employment at the Torrington Company in Clinton, South Carolina where he remained until he retired after thirty-four years.
Robert was a big lover of grilling and hanging out with family and friends, music, and was one to never back down from a challenge, especially in baseball, horseshoes, bowling, and spades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara and Angela D. Vance; two brothers, Carl J. and Thomas J. Vance; an aunt, Connie Mae Young; and his stepmother, Barbara J. Vance.
On Sunday, August 18, 2019, Mr. Robert Miller was called home to be with the Lord at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Debra Miller of the home; two sons, Robert Miller, Jr. of Tacoma, WA and Darrell Miller of Everett, WA; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Vickie Vance of Clinton, SC, Johnnie Mae Young of Charlotte, NC, and Belinda V. (James) Breazeale of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Michael Vance of Clinton, SC, Ricky (Candy) Vance and Steffon Vance both of VA; a special cousin, Janice Watson Moore of Clinton, SC; a host of other relatives and friends.
