Ronald Worthy Obituary

Ronald Charles Worthy was born October 4, 1953 in Laurens County, South Carolina to Mary Louise Worthy and Oliver Humphries. He passed away on July 1, 2019, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.

Ronald was reared by his grandmother, Mattie Lois Worthy.

In his early years, Ronald loved sports and was an outstanding basketball player. He set many records at Bell Street High School and Clinton High School.

Ronald's greatest accomplishments happened in his adult life.  After learning and accepting Bible truths, he was baptized and became a Jehovah's Witness on March 3, 2012.  After baptism, he quickly became a ministerial servant.  He attended Pioneer Service School, South Carolina 6, Class of August 3-8, 2015, in Newberry, SC.

Charles had a quiet, soft spoken voice, but when he preached about the Kingdom of Jehovah, his voice was strong and bold.  His love came shining through for our Father, Jehovah, unto death.  He truly enjoyed teaching the Bible to all he met.  His big smile will never be forgotten by family and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Spann, his grandparents, W.C. and Mattie Lois Worthy, his uncle, James Calvin Worthy, an aunt, Juanita Mims, and his only daughter, Kizzie Juantrese Priestley Hall.

Ronnie, as he was affectionately known by his family, leaves to cherish his memories his only son, Rafael Leon Priestley, and 13 grandchildren, one son-in-law, David Hall, an aunt Wanda (Henry) Isaac, a cousin who was reared with him, James Calvin Winphrie, a dear friend, Alfreda Philson, and a host of other family, relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
