Mr. Roosevelt “Joe Lewis” Davis was born December 27, 1946 in Laurens County, South Carolina to the late Gertrude Davis.
He was employed as a mechanic for many years as well as the City of Clinton for eleven years.
“Joe Lewis,” as he was lovingly called, loved working in the garden and working on cars. He also loved to lend a helping hand whenever he could and going to the store to shop by himself.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Davis.
On Sunday, November 16, 2025, Mr. Roosevelt Davis departed this life and entered Eternal Rest at his home in Clinton, South Carolina at the age of seventy-eight.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annie Mae Davis; two sisters: Shirley Davis and Johnnie Mae Davis; one brother, Michael Davis; seven sisters-in-law: Fannie Mae Carter, Annie Lee (Grady) Davis, Mary (Johnny) Scurry, Martha McGowan, Dorothy P. Miller, Annie Bradley, Minister Mary Kelly; four brothers-in-law: John (Joann) Carter, Jean (Ruby) Carter, Luther Carter, Willie Lee Carter; his supervisor of many years whom he loved as family, Wayne Copeland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
