Mrs. Rosa Bell Rice Davis was born September 17, 1939 to the late Hattie Bell Sims McDowell and Woodrow Rice. She entered into eternal rest on April 29th, at her home surrounded by those who loved her dearly.
She was educated in the Laurens County Public School System and received her high school diploma. Rosa was employed by the Laurens Shirt Factory, Her Majesty Sewing Center and retired after 25 years from Enoree Mills in Enoree, SC, Rosa was and avid reader and especially loved reading Harlequin Romances, the Guidepost, medical books and the local newspaper. Rosa had a green thumb and could make any plant grow.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years John Wesley (Fruit) Davis, two sisters Mamie Lee Fann and Alberta Latimore, two brothers Wilson Rice and Reginald McDowell and one great grandson Kanizia Fuller.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories and sweet kind spirit three daughters, Karen (Willie) Ray of Clinton, SC, Tina Davis Boyd of Laurens, SC, and Alicia (Kevin) Gibson of Piedmont, SC,; Her sisters Annie Lou (Bobby) Lattimore, Bobbie Jean Hunter of Laurens, SC, and Sylvia Baker of Anderson, SC. her brothers, Raymond Rice of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, James McDowell of Laurens, South Carolina, Jerry McDowell of Laurens, SC; Her grandchildren Ashley (Medgar) Patten, Cornelius (Danni) Boyd, Khyran Davis and two great grandchildren Caiden Boyd and Averie Patten. A devoted nephew John (Ruby) McDowell and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
