Mrs. Rosylin Paige-Powell, 70, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024. Born on June 17, 1954, in Marion, SC, to the late Robert Williams and Esther Collier, Rosylin was lovingly raised by Isolene Greene and Celestine Washington (Roger Washington). She was a proud resident of Spartanburg, SC, and a graduate of Terrell Bay High School and the University of Massachusetts. Rosylin dedicated over 26 years to serving the school systems of Amityville, NY, and Spartanburg, SC, where she created a warm, nurturing environment for her students. Her love for children and teaching was evident in the joyful and enriching atmosphere she brought to the classroom. Rosylin was known for her infectious smile and generous heart. She cherished time with her family and the children she taught, her two greatest passions. She had a natural gift for making others feel loved and would always give generously to those around her.
She is survived by her children, Lewis Powell (Candice), DJ, and Kristina; her beloved grandchildren, Laryen Powell, Nevaeh Powell, and Elijah Powell. She is also remembered fondly by her siblings: Karen Bethea, Donnie Bethea (Anita), Richard Bethea, Robert Bethea (Debra), Geraldine Agee ((late Lorenzo), Camile Collier (Andrea), Crystal Greene, Brendan Greene, Katrina Greene, Anthony Washington, and Mara St. Fleur (Christopher); along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings; Alfonso Gregg (Jackie), Doris Sabbakhan, Kaye Burgess (late Johnny), and Lester Collier Jr, (Hilary).
Rosylin's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
